[Splurge: $1400] We like to keep our gear on the affordable side, but the BOTE Stand-Up Paddle Board deserves a rare mention in the Splurge category. This 12′ board combines the best of the surfing and fishing worlds and can be used for both purposes (though maybe not at the same time… actually, that might be fun). While the BOTE Stand-Up Paddle Board isn’t cheap, it’s a good alternative for those who can’t afford a fishing boat, and a must-have for watermen who enjoy any and all aquatic activities. Features include a leaning post with rod holders, carbon fiber paddle, deck pad for grip, carbon fin for steering, and a 35 qt Yeti cooler for beers and the catch of the day.
